At the official A1GP test at the Silverstone circuit A1 Team Netherlands set the third fastest time during the first session this morning.
On the shortened circuit Jos Verstappen set a fastest lap time of 1’10.763.With three minutes left in the three hour session A1 Team Netherlands was still in front, but in the dying moments of the session Malaysia and France went a fraction quicker. Conditions at the English circuit are good, it’s partially cloudy and dry. According to weather forecasts it should stay like this during the day.
After the preparations of the team in the past weeks, also in the A1GP workshop where the teams are allowed to work on the cars, this two day test is the first opportunity to work on the car set up and check everything, four weeks before the season starts.
At the first A1GP press conference of this season the organization looked ahead at the upcoming season and also lifted a tip of the veil about the A1GP car development for the future. David Claire, head of A1GP Operations, said that the A1GP car is probably will have a new chassis and significantly more power, some 700bhp, from season three onwards.

Die News überschlagen sich ja fast in Anbetracht des heutigen Testtages!
Auf A1GP.com wurde vorhin eine lange Meldung zum Saisonbeginn veröffentlicht, siehe hier. Darin wird unter anderem die Teilnahme von "Team Turkey" bestätigt und ein neuer Modus zur Ermittlung der Startreihenfolge des Hauptrennens angekündigt. Ich zitiere:

Der Großteil des Geschriebenen handelt aber natürlich vom heutigen Testtag in Silverstone - und hier gibt es tolle Neuigkeiten in Sachen "Team Germany" zu berichten: So wurden als Fahrer Michael Ammermüller (GP2) und Nicolas Hülkenberg (RECARO Formel-3-Cup) nominiert, die damit wohl auch große Chancen haben, beim ersten Rennen in Zandvoort eingesetzt zu werden. Erstgenannter testete heute bereits und fuhr dabei am Vormittag die acht- und am Nachmittag die drittbeste Zeit - was in der Gesamttagesbilanz einen erfreulichen fünften Platz ergibt (siehe Bericht bei adrivo.com).
Ha, beide Fahrer sind ein anderes Kaliber als ein gewisser Sebastian Stahl! Ich muss sagen, ich bin begeistert! :clap:
Bei "Team Switzerland" wurden übrigens neben Neel Jani auch Sébastien Buemi (F3 Euro Series) und Marcel Fässler (Ex-DTM) bestätigt.

A1 Team Netherlands third in Thursday morning session
During the morning session of the Thursday A1 Team Netherlands set a third fastest time. Jos Verstappen drove a total of 49 laps in the three hour session, setting a fastest time of 1’10.942. The fastest time was set by Germany, with a lap time of 1’10.615
Despite the threat of rain it stayed dry at the Silverstone circuit. At the moment it is clearing up a bit more.

In einem anderen Forum hat man bereits den (ersichtlichen) Grund dafür gefunden, warum Team Frankreich bei den Tests in Silverstone mit einem rein weißen Auto angetreten ist: Man fährt ab Zandvoort mit einer neuen Lackierung, siehe Bild. (Da allerdings keine Quelle angegeben wurde, würde ich dieses Layout mal mit Vorsicht genießen.)
A propos "Lackierung": Neben Team Frankreich werden auch Team Südafrika und Team Irland beim ersten Saisonrennen mit einem neuem "Outfit" antreten, siehe hier:
